Blake Willams

  • Began performing bluegrass music professionally in 1971
  • Worked for two of the forefathers of Bluegrass Music (Lester Flatt & The Nashville Grass - 1979 and Bill Monroe & the Blue Grass Boys 1981-1991)
  • Performed on the first bluegrass album to win a Grammy Award (Southern Flavor: Bill Monroe & The Blue Grass Boys-1989)
  • Performed for presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr.
  • Performed on the Grand Ole Opry for 21 consecutive years
  • Performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center
  • Featured in “Masters of the 5-string Banjo” written by Tony Trishka & Pete Wernick-1988
  • A faithful promoter of bluegrass music and his hometown of Sparta, Tennessee, while performing as a founding member of The Williams & Clark Expedition bluegrass band
